Press Release:

January 8, 2013 | POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO

The new year calls for a celebration as Dole Philippines, Inc. (Dolefil) turns 50 this 2013. Series of activities and programs for both its employees and its community are lined up throughout the year to celebrate this historic milestone.

As a kick-off, Dolefil had simultaneous fireworks display last January 1, 2013 at its operations in Calumpang, Gen. Santos City, Surallah, and Polomolok, South Cotabato. On January 13 to 19, a surgical mission will be held at Howard Hubbard Memorial Hospital in partnership with the Philippine Medical Society of Florida, Mahintana Foundation, Inc., and Mt. Matutum Healthcare Foundation Inc.

There are not many companies that survive 50 years. Dolefil’s VP and Managing Director, Mr. Simon Denye says Dolefil’s turning 50 is an “impressive achievement”. “We are lucky that our customer still love pineapples. With Itochu backing us with their financial support and growth opportunities in countries such as China, we can look forward to another 50 years.”,Denye added.

Dolefil was established in 1963 as one of the largest integrated pineapple plantation, cannery, and packaging complex in the world. After two years, Dolefil was able to produce its first shipment of 30,000 cases of canned pineapple products to Newark, New Jersey, USA. Now, Dolefil, with an annual production equivalent to about 8 Billion servings, provides healthy and high-quality food products to numerous international markets worldwide.

SURGICAL MISSION 2013

Surgical Mission 2013 is an outreach activity of Dole Philippines, Inc., in partnerships with Mahintana Foundation, Philippine Medical Society of Florida (PMSF), and Mt. Matutum Healthcare Foundation that targets to benefit our indigent countrymen needing surgery who are able to provide for their medical care.

With the help of volunteer surgeons, nurses, and medical staff from PMSF; and resident doctors and nurses from Howard Hubbard Memorial Hospital and Mt. Matutum Healthcare Foundation, Surgical Mission 2013 shall be made possible this January 13 to 19, 2013. Approximately 100 patients from region XII shall benefit from this historic event.

“I feel fantastic for the beneficiaries, but my thanks really goes to the surgeons who give their time for free and even fly all the way from Florida to help these children and families; and to the hospital nurses who prep the patients.”, Denye said. ” Thier expertise is highly commendable and makes the Surgical Mission a wonderful story of changing people’s lives”, he explained.

As Dolefil turns 50 this 2013, we wish to touch the live of more Filipinos through activities such as this.

5th Gensan Car Show

5th Gensan Car Show

The 5th annual Gensan Car Show was held at Gaisano Mall on October 12, 13 and 14, 2012. There where several entries from Gensan and Davao that participated in this event. We were once again able to see up close some pimped up rides. Most of these setups are very costly that the amount spent on the accessories can buy a you a brand new car.

Below are the photos that I took during the event.
